women’s tempo

I was part of the test last year for the adults version and made this purple dress, which I hacked to add sleeves here. I have worn this every opportunity I got!

This year, I decided to take apart my Lyric Dress that didn’t get much wear and make it into a Tempo. The trouble was that I didn’t have enough fabric for the skirt.

After some draping, I created a top with a deep curved hem. Some may categorize this as a tunic. Either way, I love the new life this fabric had gotten. It will be getting a lot more use now too.

sizing & modifications- women’s tempo

My measurements: High bust 36″, Bust 38″, Waist 34″, Hips 45″ — > I made a M graded to L from the bust to hip and reduced the bodice length to accommodate my shorter torso.

I did have enough fabric to make a matching newly released Girls Tempo for Lilli!

I color blocked it due to… ya know… fabric restrictions; and omgosh she loves it! I had Lilli wear it to take pictures and then took it back to make the above video. She would ask me, everyday, if I was done with her dress so she could wear it again. 🀣

sizing & modifications- girl’s tempo
  • Made a size 6
  • Reduced bodice height by 0.5″ for her shorter torso
  • Lengthened skirt by 3.5″ (should have split the amount between the skirt and the ruffle tier
  • Cut the neck in a slight V to mimic the adult Tempo
  • After taking these photos, shortened the straps by 2″ in the front

Both bodices were made using crepe fabric that grew if you stared at it the wrong way. So I underlined the bodices using a lightweight cotton. I have a tutorial on working with delicate fabrics here.
