Faith in God and that He will show me the direction I should be headed. Faith in myself and not fall into imposter syndrome. Faith in the process, it's okay for slow days or months, it's also okay for it to be busy at other times.

What's your word for the year?

This year, for teacher gifts, I had the idea of mini pot magnets with succulents - less watering needed. 🪴

The succulents were propagated from my own plant. The pots were a purchase I did for my wedding - 15 years ago - another DIY project at that time. Painted the pots and added some moss to make it look pretty.

The magnets I bought were not strong enough to hold so they stayed as mini pots. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We all have things we don't like about sewing. Wha We all have things we don't like about sewing. What would you hire someone to do?
Let's face it, if you were trying to save $$, you Let's face it, if you were trying to save $$, you would not be sewing. So what motivates you to put in the hours and $$ making?

Back when sewing was uncool, it was actually more cost effective. The world of fast fashion hadn't exploded and clothes cost a decent penny. I remember my mom shopping the $2/yard bins for fabric to turn into our dresses - because that was cheaper.

But now, I make my own for more than double the cost of what I can purchase but still prefer my own makes. I'm used to clothes actually fitting my body now, with all it's quirks.

I also have to create, something, anything with my hands. And being able to wear your creativity is just a boost in confidence, as well as therapeutic. When I sew, I can shut my brain off from the million other tasks competing for my attention in my brain, and just focus on one.

So I ask you again, what motivates you to sew? Let's chat in the comments ⬇️
