I got the opportunity to test a pattern by Sansahash. It was a fun and new experience! I got to meet (virtually) some very talented people. I will definitely be applying to be a tester for more pattern!
The dress is call Nilah Dress and it is fully lined bodice; no neck or sleeve bands! There are four sleeve options – sleeveless, short, 3/4, and long sleeves, allowing you to make this dress for any season. The best design feature is the cute high-low skirt. It isn’t like any of the high-lows I’ve seen before. Its definitely more pronounced.
This is the second dress I made with this pattern. I didn’t really think the fabric would work well with 3/4 sleeves but once it was all put together it looked nice. It is a cotton knit, on the thicker side, which works well for the fall season.
The best part was my daughter wanting to put the dress on and keep it on. She was going around telling everyone to look at her new dress that her mom made. It is definitely nice to hear that from her. 🙂
It came together pretty quickly. I’m a slow worker, I’m okay with that now, and it took me 3 hours total of cutting, constructing, and hemming. With lots of ironing in between.
Did I mention the Nilah pattern is on sale for $5.50 until Sept 14th? Hurry, and get yours now!
Sizes on the dresses were a blend of 12M chest, 2T waist, and 18M height. Shoulders, bodice and skirt height were 18M. The chest and armscye were 12M graded to 2T at the waist. The sleeve length was 18M with the armscye section a 12M to fit the bodice.
Here’s my first version of the dress was a thin knit teal with sparkles.
Here’s the high-low hem again.
You’ve got one more day to get the pattern while it is still on sale. Don’t miss it!
