My third pattern test has come to completion! A new pattern Virginia Tunic/Dress by Frocks and Frolics was released today. PS – there is a 25% coupon code for this weekend, in the Facebook group once you join.
The pattern comes in tunic and dress length, has a unique yoke and can be embellished with ribbons.
I choose to make a dress for my daughter out of a flowery blue cotton lawn. Frocks and Frolics is know for her great video tutorials for each pattern along with great pictures and instructions in the PDF and she did a great one for this dress.
I pretty much stuck to the pattern the way it was designed, except to add pockets to the sides. Lilli loves pockets, I don’t blame her. 😊
The yoke construction took the most effort since it was new. After that, gathering the skirt and adding the sleeves were just like any other dress.
I really like the elastic bound sleeves. I might add it to other patterns too.
The last thing I added were three ribbons, close enough, to make it look like one.
Lilli loves the dress and gets lots of compliments on it. Make sure to grab the pattern while it is on sale!
